Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
Our Literacy 2.0 initiative begins with the Imagination Library, in partnership with the Dolly Parton Foundation, by providing brand-new age-appropriate books every month to preschoolers from birth until they turn five years old and start kindergarten. Books are the key to opening the learning pathways to help children start school with the ability to learn and thrive. There is no charge to the family for the books, and our goal is to continue providing high-quality programming to the families and children participating in this program. As you may have heard, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has mailed out over one million books to children internationally since 1995. We are proud to be a part of that effort. We have graduated more than 1,500 children from our local program, and we have over 180 children currently receiving books. No proof of income is needed to enroll and begin receiving monthly books.
Each child receives a brand-new age-appropriate book sent to their home every month for a year. Parents enroll their children up to age four to help instill a love of reading and literacy skills needed to start school, ready to learn. A small gift can change a child’s future. We receive many applications for enrollment per month, and they are on our waiting list. With your help, they can begin receiving books within the next few weeks.
If you want to enroll your child in our Imagination Library program, we do remind you that there is a waiting list. However, we enroll children on a first come first serve basis, so early enrollment is encouraged.
